The Mexican band Panda got three "lenguas" on MTV Latin America Awards, including best group or duo, while Wisin & Yandel were imposed as artists of the year and video of the year for his hit "abused".
The alternative band that won last Monday in Mexico City for the best artist MTV Latino northern cornered Thursday night the statuette for best alternative artist and best band or duo, surpassing votes Calle 13, Jesse & Joy, Wisin & Yandel and Zoe in the latter category.
Wisin & Yandel, who earned six nominations were the most nominations, had to settle for two "lenguas" (shape of the statue) while Mexican star Paulina Rubio, who had five nominations, won one award, for best soloist.
The Mexican band Reik was the recognition of the best pop artist, while his compatriots managed Zoé the award for best rock artist.
The "lengua" to the song of the year was for "Poker Face" of the U.S. pop sensation Lady Gaga, who also won the award for best new international artist.
The winner was the new artist Sonohra Italian duo, formed by brothers Luca and Diego Fainello.
